First and foremost…I hope everyone has a good Easter. This year is going to be very weird for all of us. No gathering together at church. No dinner with the family. No Easter egg hunts for the kids. But, at least we are all together in spirit and are staying healthy. We can make up for all the other things later. Staying healthy is most important right now.
Alright, here are today’s “Random Thoughts”…
THE NUMBERS
According to the website put together by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, as of Saturday afternoon at 3 pm there are 23,993 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Michigan. That number jumped up by 1,210 in 24 hours.
Here in West Michigan, there are 270 confirmed cases in Kent County (up by 20), 64 in Ottawa (up by 3), 57 in Muskegon (no change), 21 in Montcalm (up by 1), 19 in Allegan (no change), 14 in Ionia County (no change), eight in Barry County (up by 1), and six in Newaygo County (up by 2).
We have had a total of 1,392 deaths in our state due to COVID-19 (an increase of 110). We have had 13 deaths in Kent County (no change), four in Muskegon County (no change), two deaths in Ionia County (no change), two deaths in Ottawa County (up by 1), and one death in Montcalm County (no change).
Stay Home, Wash Your Hands, and Social Distance Yourself! Please stay healthy.
ANOTHER PILEATED WOODPECKER VIDEO
I posted a video the other day of the pileated woodpecker that visits my suet feeder on my front porch several times every day.
He is usually quite vocal too. Here is another video and you can hear him letting me know the feeder is running low!
FREE T.P. WITH A MEAL
During this time of “take out” only, I’m trying to support as many local businesses as I can.
On Friday, I ordered dinner from Cedar Springs Brewing Company. The food was delicious!
Plus, if you order more than $20 worth of food, you get a free roll of toilet paper! Now I can wipe without worry!
I also had a chance to talk to the owner, David Ringler, for a few minutes — from a distance.
The craft breweries are really hurting right now. Some may not be able to make it another month or so if this continues.
If you can help out your favorite craft brewery by ordering take out or getting your growlers filled up — please do. They would certainly appreciate it.
Craft beer has been just a great addition to west Michigan. I would sure hate to lose some of these breweries because of COVID-19. Help if you can.
A FECAL FASCINATION IN THE TOY AISLE
I strolled down the toy aisle at the store the other day. I was looking at what games and puzzles there were as an option to keep busy.
I was surprised at the number of games that were based on “poop”. Games like “Don’t Step In It”, “Flushin’ Frenzy”, and “Pass the Poop”!
I’m not kidding. I took a picture just to prove it…
If I were the game “Meltdown”, I’d be requesting better shelf placement — instead of sitting among all the crappy games!
I BET YOU DIDN’T REALIZE THIS…
How many times have we all tried to get onto the internet only to see this…
Usually that just makes us angry that we have lost our internet connection.
But…did you know that that screen is also a game?
The next time you get the little T-Rex telling you that you have no internet, hit the spacebar on your keyboard to start the game. You will have to assist the dinosaur in jumping over cacti plants. It’s tougher than you think!
THIS MADE ME LAUGH…
I saw this posted on social media yesterday and it made me laugh…
We all love our bacon!
Have a GREAT Easter Sunday. I will be on the air today from Noon-3 pm on 98.7 WFGR. Join me! (On Monday, we start giving away lots of MONEY! Tune in for details!)
