Here we are at the end of 2018. This year seemed to go by so quickly. I thought it would be fun to look back at things that happened in 2018, many of which we probably have forgotten about already!

January 12th – News of the alleged Stormy Daniels-Donald Trump liaison breaks.
January 24th – A former Michigan sports doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced to 40-175 years in prison by Judge Rosemarie Aquilina.
February 4th – Super Bowl 52: The Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots 41-33.
March 15th – Toys ‘R’ Us announced they were going to liquidate all of their stores and cease operations.
April 10th – Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg appeared before Congress and apologized for his company’s shortcomings and failure to protect users’ information.
April 17th – Former First Lady Barbara Bush died at the age 92.
May 19th – The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
June 7th – The Washington Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-games-to-1 to win the NHL’s Stanley Cup.
June 8th – The Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in 4 games to win the NBA championship.
July 15th – France beat Croatia to win soccer’s World Cup.
August 16th – The “Queen of Soul”, Aretha Franklin, passed away at the age of 76.
August 25th – Senator John McCain died just days shy of his 82nd birthday.
September 14th – Hurricane Florence hit the North Carolina shore. The drenching rain continued for days and caused billions in damage and more than 50 deaths.
September 25th – Bill Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison for sexual assault.
October 10th – Hurricane Michael hit the Florida Panhandle with 155-mile-per-hour winds. It was the third strongest storm ever to make landfall in the U.S. A total of 60 people died in the storm.
October 23rd – An anonymous person in South Carolina won the $1.537 billion Megamillions jackpot. It was the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
October 28th – The Boston Red Sox defeated the L.A. Dodgers 4-games-to-1 to win Baseball’s World Series.
November 6th – Michigan voters decided to legalize marijuana for adult recreational use by a comfortable 56-44 percent margin.
November 25th – In Northern California, The Camp Fire was finally contained after destroying 18,793 structures and killing 88 people.
November 30th – Former President George H.W. Bush passes away at age 94.
December 22nd – The government was partially shut down after the House and Senate failed to pass a spending bill. President Donald Trump insisted he would not sign any spending bill that did not include $5 billion for a border wall.
