Darla Jaye talks about Hurricane Harvey

The big news over the weekend was hurricane Harvey hitting the Gulf coast of Texas.

The amount of rain they have received over the last couple of days in that area has been measured in feet, not inches. Over 2 feet of rain has fell, and at least that much more is in the forecast for the next couple of days.

I wanted to talk to someone down in the Houston area about the hurricane and find out first hand what was going on. Darla Jaye, who I worked with at WKLQ and WGRD back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, had just moved down there a few weeks ago. Fortunately there was cell service and she could call and talk to us.

Here is the phone conversation I had with Darla on 98.7 WFGR on Monday, August 28th, 2017…

It was great to hear from her again! Be safe Darla!!!

I’ve always been the kind of person who notices the things other people overlook — strange roadside attractions, forgotten pieces of history, interesting places, odd trends, and the little things in everyday life that make you laugh and say, “Wait... when did that become normal?” This blog is where I share those discoveries. Some days you might learn something fascinating from history. Other days I’ll take you along on a road trip, share a weird story from Michigan’s past, or simply rant about something in modern life that makes absolutely no sense. No matter what, my goal is simple: keep things interesting!
