Opening the “Rick and Scott” Audio Vault

One of the things I’m looking forward to with the Scott Winters’ Blog is to be able to share some classic audio from the old “Rick and Scott” shows. It will be fun to look back and re-live some of those moments together.

What were you doing on this day back in 2000? Here is the daily promo we ran for our show from June 19, 2000:

It’s hard to believe that was 16 years ago!

What were your favorite moments from the “Rick and Scott” Show? Reply below and I’ll see if I can come up with the audio to post in the future!

I’ve always been the kind of person who notices the things other people overlook — strange roadside attractions, forgotten pieces of history, unusual places, odd trends, and the little things in everyday life that make you stop and say, “Wait... when did that become normal?” That curiosity is really what this blog is all about. I’m especially drawn to the stories hiding in plain sight: a forgotten piece of Michigan history, a roadside attraction you’d never know was there, an old building with a story behind it, or some completely ordinary part of modern life that suddenly seems ridiculous when you think about it for more than five seconds. Some days you’ll find a fascinating history story here. Other days I may take you along on a road trip, dig into something weird from Michigan’s past, share an interesting discovery, or simply rant about something in modern life that makes absolutely no sense. I don’t pretend to have all the answers. I just enjoy asking the questions, digging around for the stories, and sharing the interesting things I find along the way. My goal is simple: Keep looking. Keep learning. And keep things interesting.

How about anything from when Darla played the character Rick would call and talk to her. Or the time Rick called the GR police chief and he said they were equipping the citizens with guns.

Darla never played any characters on the show other than herself. Are you talking about Marfwa? She was just a listener who called in. I think I might have some audio of that. I’ll check.

I’m not sure. Around 1989 I thought Darla had played some hostess for the Bijou theater and kept putting Rick on hold…. Susie???

Any audio of around that circa is comedy gold!

Still love the time on the RDS show where Roving Ralph shot the deer on the air.

How about when Roving Ralph pissed Rick off ?? And he made him take the bus while the rest of you were flying to the same destination. Seems like we waited days to find out his punishment.
